Dr. Claudia Cadet

Co-Founder

Claudia is a neonatologist at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Born in the Dominican Republic, Claudia has devoted herself tirelessly in Latin America for many years by providing education and training in newborn resuscitation and newborn care. Her life’s work is caring for sick babies and her global health projects are an extension of this passion. Her ultimate goal is to "give back" to her birth country by teaching local providers how to better care for their mother/baby pairs, thus improving newborn and maternal outcomes.

Dr. Alexandra Leader

Co-Founder

Alexandra is a pediatric emergency medicine doctor at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA and Director of Global Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has spent the past 15 years involved in global health, education and music programs for children throughout Latin America. During the past several years, she has been committed to supporting maternal-infant health education in the Dominican Republic. She believes that training doctors and nurses to best care for mothers and babies is essential to upholding the health and dignity of our global community. She is grateful to have the privilege to do so in the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Wanny Roa

Site Director 

Wanny is a Dominican Family Physician who came on board to oversee trainings, follow-up with training sites, and be a local point-person for all in country activities in the Dominican Republic.  She has a passion for teaching providers how to care for the most fragile patients and is a star in helping to achieve the mission of the Manos de Ramon Foundation.
