Wanny is the Manos de Ramon Foundation (MDR) in-country director in the Dominican Republic. She oversees our projects in Santiago and the surrounding regions. This includes visiting medical student and resident oversight, project evaluation/monitoring oversight, follow-up of local trainees and support to Dominican MDR trained sites. She also acts as an MDR liaison to the Ministry of Health when the MDR co-founders are not in country.
Wanny is a family practice physician who trained at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo with a special interest in Maternal-Child Health and breastfeeding. She acted as chief resident at Juan XXIII hospital in Santiago and is a natural leader. She is trained in Helping Babies Breathe, Essential Care for Every Baby, NRP and Helping Mothers Survive. MDR is fortunate to have her as our partner in Santiago.
It is because of charitable donations that our organization can continue to the tough work to help improve maternal-child health in the Dominican Republic. For it is only through fostering local partnerships and empowering local providers that we can create lasting improvements in medical care to the smallest babies and their most vulnerable mothers. Your donations help support local providers like Wanny to carry forth our mission.
